Books

Respond here if you’ve read any of the books on my list! I’d love to get opinions on them before I devote hours and hours to their pages (;

  1. I’ve read only Villette. While it’s a fairly interesting story, be prepared for quite a bit of untranslated French (unless you have a copy that provides the English as well). That’s about the only downside though.

  2. I loved Rebecca. Fierce descriptions constitute so much of the book, but I think DuMaurier is brilliant that way. The ending is my favorite part–don’t read ahead. 0_0 Will you post book reviews for us after reading? 🙂

  3. The Old Man and the Sea is one of my favorites (enough so that I reviewed it back when I was going through a huge Hemingway phase: http://asotherswere.me/2014/06/06/review-the-old-man-and-the-sea/) but his other books are also excellent. You might want to check out For Whom the Bell Tolls. It’s one of my favorites.

    Also (judging by the other things you are reading/will be reading) you might like “The Way We Live Now” by Anthony Trollope. English drama, and good English drama at that 🙂
